Questions people ask before they buy
What a flow is, what the verifications confirm, who holds the compliance duty, and how Veriflow is priced.
How Veriflow works
What is a verification flow?
A flow is several verifications, chained into one journey your customer walks once. Instead of running one verification at a time, you bundle the ones you need and run them as a single flow, built in the portal or called from the API.
Can I run a single verification on its own?
Most can. Two cannot: Facial Match runs after ID Verification, on the same ID number, and compares the selfie against the latest photograph Home Affairs holds for it; the Liveness Test runs together with both.
Can I use Veriflow through an API, and which verifications does it cover?
Yes. Every verification is available through the API, with a sandbox to build against (credentials on request). Prefer clicks to code? The portal does the same job for ops, compliance and credit teams.
The verifications
Which verifications can I run?
The verifications fall into three groups: people and identity (ID Verification, Facial Match, Liveness Test, Contact Verification), financial (Bank Account Verification, Credit Score Indicator, Collection Date Indicator) and business and compliance (CIPC Company Verification, Director Search, Public Servant Verification, AML and PEP Screening).
How fast do results come back?
Every verification returns its result in real time. Real time describes how quickly a result comes back, not how current the source’s own data is.
What does bank account verification confirm in South Africa?
It verifies whether the bank account details provided exist and are registered to the customer’s name and South African ID number (or, for a business account, a company registration number) against participating banks. It also answers whether the account has been open for more than three months, whether it accepts debits and credits, and whether the mobile number you were given matches the number the bank holds.
Which verifications use biometric data?
Facial Match and Liveness Test. Both require camera access, and both process biometric data, which POPIA treats as special personal information: you need a ground under section 27, usually your customer’s consent, before either runs. Any selfie or photograph taken during the verification is kept for the retention period you set on its flow, then deleted automatically, and you can delete a record at any time, for example when your customer asks. Compliance
What is KYC?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is the process of confirming who you’re doing business with before you transact: verifying a person’s identity, accounts and company details. In South Africa, FICA requires accountable institutions to do it as customer due diligence, and POPIA governs how the personal information is handled. Veriflow runs those verifications as one flow.

Does Veriflow help with FICA and POPIA compliance?
Veriflow provides the tooling: access control that scopes who can run what, retention settings with automatic deletion, a timestamped audit trail, and record deletion. POPIA and FICA duties stay yours: who is responsible for what under POPIA.
How the compliance tooling works · Each FICA duty, and what helps you evidence it
Under POPIA, who is responsible for personal information: Veriflow or you?
Veriflow acts in two distinct capacities under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. For every verification a client initiates, the client is the responsible party and Veriflow is its operator. For its own defined processing — account administration and client vetting, billing records, platform security and audit logs, its own legal compliance, and the screening database used for AML and PEP screening — Veriflow is the responsible party in its own right.
Who decides what happens with a result?
A verification result is an input to your own assessment. Veriflow does not decide whether any person or entity is onboarded, declined, priced, offboarded, employed, granted credit or reported, and makes no recommendation as to any of those. Those decisions are made solely by you, on your own criteria and under your own legal obligations, and you must not use a result as the sole basis for any adverse outcome affecting a person.

How much does Veriflow cost?
There’s no public price list. Book a demo, see the platform run against your requirements, and a specialist prepares a pricing proposal built around your volumes. You can pay as you go from a wallet or, where arranged with your account, settle monthly on invoice.
